Track Name: Hold You Here
You are reading into this too much. Can’t you see that the sun is shining?
If the seaside is not enough, how will you ever know how to be happy?
You shouldn’t need me to point it out– it’s all right in front of your face
All the beautiful things out there and everything that

Everything that holds you here
Everything that you hold dear

Is it really all that strange? You’re so surprised at the way a heart can change
But for all the things you are you’ve never been consistent from the start
So don’t take me for granted I can only take so much of this
There’s so many beautiful things out there. They are the things that

Everything that holds you here
Everything that we hold dear
I don’t make the rules for you. You tow your own line
Do whatever your heart tells you too but listen to mine
It’s singing out loud and clear– you are the thing that
The only thing that holds me here
The only thing that I hold dear.

Hold me here
Track Name: Low Tide
At the bottom of the sea
There’s a shell for you and me
I told you I would wait there
I sat down and held my breath
You said you’d gone up for air
I waited for two whole years
Ran out of breath and out of time
Hoping you would change your mind

Either way it doesn’t make a difference
You came back and I was gone
And making out like everything’s the same for us doesn’t help
You took too long

I came up for air myself
Thinking you’d left me to drown
It wasn’t long till I found out
You had gone back to the shell
And now you’ve left it up to me
To meet you back under the sea and

I know it could make all the difference
If I come back you might be gone
And making out like everything’s the same for us will not help
If I take too long

Wait for me
I can’t decide
I’ll look for our shell
At low tide
Track Name: Sweet Sweet Nothings
It was not the flowers you never sent
That won me over dear
The romantic places we never went
Not what let me know you cared
The love letters you never wrote
Are not what made me love you
The sweet, sweet nothings you never spoke
Are not what made me sure you were the one for me

But all the little things we let slip by
Tipped the scales and out–weighed
All the other things we loved so well

The time you spent away from home
Is not what took your heart from me
And all the boys in all the world
Could never lead my heart astray
But something that we never saw grew up
Slowly in between
And by the time we caught on
The gap it left was much too big for us to mend

And all the little things we let slip by
Tipped the scales and out–weighed
All the other things I miss so now
And all the little things I just let fly
Did more harm than good and hit you hard
And oh I miss you now
And all the little things I leave unsaid
Still come running through my head
Thinking they might change your mind
But I’m not sure I would change mine
I didn’t know but you were right
Track Name: The Long Way Home
You take the long way home girl
What are you avoiding?
There’s nothing to be wary of
Everyone here loves you
On your way you will see flowers on the sidewalk
Let their scent remind you that you have what you want

Don’t forget what it meant to you
You have something that you don’t want to lose

Roses are red not black
You’re just feeling sorry for yourself
You want the old days back
Don’t you know we’re living them right now?
You just won’t see it until two more years have passed
And you look back on today and all that you’ve taken for granted

Don’t forget what it means to you
You have something worth holding on to

In the end all these things
You must leave behind
As you move through this time
You’ll find

You don’t want to forget what it meant to you
You have something that you don’t want to lose
Don’t forget what it means to you
You have something worth holding on to
Track Name: Sentences
I know it for sure I think too much
About this guitar and my feelings and such
And all the things between the halves of you and me
I think of sentences like “I don’t need you”
And I sigh when I realise they’re not really true

But people like us– they’re all the same
Turning pain into poetry and love into a game
And hearts into tools and joy into flames
It’s all the same. We’re all the same
I think of sentences like “I’m better than this”
And I try but I don’t really believe it

It’s only talk and crazy thoughts and
Self–prophesied self–doubt
You grab my hand and pull me out
And even if I had the chance
You’re stuck in my heart and
I can’t just pull you out

So what do you want? To drink yourself stupid?
To leave yourself open and resent this moment?
And what do you need? If I only knew
If I could answer that then I wouldn’t need you
I’d throw my hands in the air
And leave my doubts at the door
And make a place for myself
And stand with you centre floor

It’s only talk and crazy thoughts and
Self–prophesied self–doubt
You grab my hand and pull me out
And even if I had the chance
You’re stuck in my heart and
I can’t just pull you out
Track Name: Come Now
Come now, baby let’s bite the bullet
And call this what we both know it is
Every woman has been the love of your life
But you made me your wife cause you just got
To a certain age and buckled under
The pressure from your mother– she wants some grandkids
And your little brother has gone off the rails again
She withdrew all hopes from him when he hit the skids

And now it’s you and me baby
And all the things we say we want from life
And we live like the king and the queen
Of the world we can see from the end of the drive. It’s nice

And anyway, you have lived your whole life
By the book and just look where it got you
We’re filthy rich and you sit in our flash house
And look out at the sea view and feel bored
And now we’re convinced that a princess or prince
Would give this excess shit some more meaning
In one selfless move we could finally prove we lived
Not out of greed but love for our potential family

And now it’s you and me baby
And all the things we say we want from life
And we live like the king and the queen
Of the world we can see from the end of the drive. It’s nice

So come now, we both thought that we knew
What we wanted and this was pretty much it
A house and a car and a boat for the weekends
A bun in the oven and a spa pool

And now it’s you, me and a baby
And all the things we said we would want from life
And we live like a king and a queen
With everything and no spare time. It’s nice. It’s alright.
Track Name: The Lake
Take me out to the lake
Show me the water’s clear
We don’t need to be afraid
There’s nothing hiding down there
Watching the summer sky
Reflect in your watery eyes
I could float here always if only
You would float by my side
I will not let you down

Hold up your head
So I can see your face
When I look into your eyes
I know I will be safe Safe

We push ourselves off the shore
And watch everything grow small
With things in perspective now I know
They don’t mean a thing at all
We watch the sky turning red
And think about why we’re here
We found each other on accident
Turns out it was a good idea
You will not let me down

Hold up your head
So I can see your face
When I look into your eyes
I know I will be safe Safe

And no one will see me floating out to the river
And we drift right on out to the sea
Baby just you and me
And no one will see us floating out to the river
As we drift right on out to the sea
Baby just you and me
Track Name: Never Change
Your one true love– I could’ve been her
I would have thrown out all my shoes for you
I could have learned how to be quiet
Keep to myself except to tell you to

Never change
I don’t want you to ever change

I gave you space. You gave me flowers
I cleaned up dishes and dreams of changing the world
I went to half way and then to the end
That’s where I found you. That’s when I knew that you would

Never change
I didn’t want you to ever change
I only wanted to stay the same

You are perfect. I’m perfect for you
If you can’t see that then I’m willing to change
I walk a fine line. I forget myself
This world’s unstable but I love you because you

Never change
I adapt so you never have to change
I only want for us to stay the same
Never change!
Never change!
Never change!
Track Name: Excuse Me
I know my love
It’s so messed up
I’d come all this way
To self destruct
I’m not here to excuse myself
I just want to see
Your face
As you throw me out

I could say I’m sorry
But even though it’s true
I’m not sure it solves a thing
I am not the same as you

I know it’s strange
We seem so secure
Until we loosen the reigns
We’re not perfect anymore
But my dear
You should know
That I never was
And I told you so
Before I lost control

Now I could say I’m sorry
But even though it’s true
I’m not sure it solves a thing
I’m just not the same as you
Track Name: What a Shame
I ask for simple things
I get what I ask for
You ask too much of me
A risk I can’t afford

This sort of balance cannot be maintained
We’ll fall and I’ll be broken again

What a shame

You think it’s a simple thing
You get what you ask for
You give me what you can
And I don’t want anything more

I will not be made a fool of again
I’ll break my own heart before I let you in

What a shame
